OUR TEAM

Pastor Eric Chimu

Director of Abigail M’s healthcare services
Since my migration from Africa to Australia, I have wholeheartedly dedicated myself to empowering migrant families and women, particularly those impacted by social exclusion and disabilities. With 15 years of experience as a pastor and mental health assistant, I am deeply passionate about driving meaningful change in our community and enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges. Since 2017, I have been actively engaged in supporting families and community members facing critical issues such as homelessness, domestic violence, mental health crises, financial independence, and the successful settlement of refugee women and families in Perth, Western Australia. My commitment to fostering resilience and growth within our community is unwavering, and I strive to create a brighter future for those in need.

My journey in ministry has been deeply impactful, as I am dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I encourage everyone to respect and value all individuals they encounter, particularly those with disabilities, treating each person with the dignity they deserve and providing them with the vital assistance they need.

Beyond my professional responsibilities, my commitment to community service drives me to make a lasting impact. Through my work in the mental health sector and my leadership as the chairperson of a non-profit organization, I have gained invaluable insights into the pressing needs of our community and the critical importance of inclusion.

I recognize that caring for a loved one with a disability can be a profoundly rewarding yet challenging experience. It is crucial to seek the support you need to provide the best care for your loved one, as this not only enhances their quality of life but also safeguards your own health and well-being.
